To Look (Download!)

Just released a recording of "To Look" with Delea Shand, soprano and Chris Goddard, piano. Go download it (it's free!) and take a listen! The song reimagines the final moments of Virginia Woolf and locates her thoughts in three verbs: to look, to know, to love.

How wonderful that we're both working with Virginia Woolf as a muse! This really is a lovely piece and may I say that I'm catching glimpses of Feldman in it? Did you write your own text or is this something Woolf wrote herself? Your soprano really presents herself well in this recording: There's just enough of her personality present without it overshadowing the piano or the composition itself.

One request: Could the link you have for me under the "Composers" section of your blog link to my new blog instead? thehoursmusical.blogspot.com
